WELCOME TO THE DEN.
AS WE WARM OURSELVES BY THE FIRE,
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
(from home page, continued...)
That's a little kid's prayer. All too many adults still pray like that,
but in the beginning of our walk, God honors this childlike, even
childish, faith. Later that evening my dad did indeed call me. I
cried
and cried, knowing that God really was "there" and had heard me .
The church on the corner heard about the poverty of our family and
through their generosity I eventually got hooked up with them. They
became my new family. I was loved. I was taught. And in gratitude I
wanted to give my life to Christ and the "cause" of the church of
Christ denomination.
In 1968 they ordained me to the ministry,
just before my graduation from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary. I started
working on some mission projects, intent on carrying "our message" to
all the places that needed it. But on one of those trips I was
confronted with some Scriptural truths that this group was not
expecting I would embrace.
When it became clear that I believed
that the Scriptures taught that gifts of the Spirit are available
today, that group asked me to leave its ministry,
My own
experience in the Spirit, and especially in forgiveness of sins
occurred in the early 70's, at a Christian "drive-in movie". A Billy
Graham film was playing. ...
He
preached Jesus, and a spirit of repentance came all over me. I cried,
then rejoiced as the truth of Christ dawned on me. I was baptized in
water the same hour of the night.
The Assemblies of God took me
in, but later I became an "independent", having trouble fitting my
particular knowledge of Scripture plus my experience in any of the
hundreds of groups available to the Christian world. I have recently
become disillusioned with large portions of the charismatic movement,
preferring to fellowship more closely with those who love God's Word
above even their own feelings.
During these 30+ years as a forgiven saint, I have served in various
churches in various ways. In my earlier years, I began writing:
For my
college professor at U.C., I wrote about the dangers of TV watching: I
have since tied this to the Word that says, "I have made a Covenant With My Eyes." For the
Church youth group I created this modern update of Jesus and the woman At The Well. It's in drama form and was
actually published in a denominational magazine.
I've taken a lot of summer mission trips, my favorite ones
being to Communist Romania in 1985 and
in 1987.
Both of these trips are recorded at Sermonaudio.com.
Right now, besides supporting my local assembly, I'm doing
this
internet ministry as co-builder of this web site, supporting
overseas
missions, teaching a Korean children's Sunday School class,
and teaching in a home Bible study.
Would be glad to hear your story!

HERE'S WHAT I BELIEVE
-
I
BELIEVE that JESUS CHRIST is the Son of God and God the Son.
-
I
BELIEVE that JESUS CHRIST is the only way to the Father, because of Who
He is, because of His death, that is the shedding of His blood, and
because of His resurrection.
-
I
BELIEVE that salvation, or the new birth, comes as a result of the
GRACE of GOD. That GRACE causes a man to believe and call out to God
for forgiveness of sins.
-
I
BELIEVE that at that moment of forgiveness he is saved and therefore
added to the true church. He is credited with the very RIGHTEOUSNESS of
GOD through no merit of his own.
-
I
BELIEVE that that same man, now saved, is called to a life of holy
living, and good works, also conceived by the Spirit's grace, without
which such a life would be impossible.
-
I
BELIEVE that the 66 Books of the Bible are "God-breathed" and
sufficient, when obeyed, to make one complete in Christ. These Books
are my "creed" and contain the rest of the things that I believe and
teach.
And
finally, if I could tell you the things that I think are most important
for your life, if you are not yet a believer, they would be the
following:
God has sent His Son, JESUS, into the world to save
sinners
(I Timothy 1:15).
All are sinners. (Romans 3:23)
All need to be forgiven their sins in order to be saved now and forever
(Romans 6:23).
The only forgiveness available from God was made possible by the death
of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12).
Those who accept what Jesus did on the cross will be saved
-immediately! Those who do not will be lost forever. (John 3:36)
Because
Jesus rose from the dead, He is alive now, and able, through His Spirit
(Acts 2:33) to enter your life and change you. (II Corinthians 5:17)
Millions
of people have found Jesus to be just what the Bible says He is: The
Saviour , the Lord, the Comforter, the Son of the Living God.
Please come to Him. If you need help in prayer, contact us, and we will
be glad to lead you to Jesus.
Jesus said, "You MUST be born again." (John 3:7) Please accept Him
today!
The
story does not end here. Jesus has promised to return to this earth,
gather His people together, and with them, rule the planet and enjoy
all of eternity! Don't miss all of this!
He may be coming SOON!
